2018 Maserati Quattroporte
The name Quattroporte defines the ultimate in super luxury sedans, and Maserati continues that tradition with the 2018 Quattroporte. The history goes back over 100 years, when the emerging Italian and European road systems begged for a saloon which could be driven fast in comfort and impeccable Italian style.
The 2018 Quattroporte is offered in three design trims with distinctive interior and exterior features - GranLusso, GranSport, and Nerissimo.
The GranLusso offers bespoke silk interiors found in no other luxury line, with Ermenegildo Zegna's personalized label stitched into the sun visors. There are other luxury touches such as a wood and leather steering wheel, wood trim, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, power foot pedals, and a power rear sunshade.
The GranSport offers Maserati Sport seats designed for optimum body support, an ergonomically designed steering wheel, oversized gearshift paddles, stainless steel Sport pedals, and a high gloss piano black wood-trimmed dashboard.
The Nerissimo offers 21-inch alloy wheels in Titano gloss black, dark trim on the LED headlights and exhaust tips, and pure black accents on the window trim, grille bars, brake calipers, and door handles.
Three engines with a total of six horsepower configurations power the 2018 Quattroporte. A 3.0-liter diesel V-6 is offered in 250 and 275 horsepower versions. There is a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V-6 gas engine offered as 350, 430, and 430 AWD horsepower versions. There is also a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V-8 which develops an impressive 530 horsepower.
The V-6 Quattroporte therefore is offered as the base Quattroporte with the 350 hp V-6, the Quattroporte S with the 430 hp V-6, the Quattroporte S Q4 with the 430 hp engine and the innovative Q4 all-wheel-drive system, and the Quattroporte Diesel with the 275 hp diesel engine (250 hp available in some markets). The V-8 Quattroporte GTS is offered with the 530 hp engine. All models are mated to the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission legendary for its precise gear changes and optimized performance. The transmission uses auto-adaptive software that will adjust shift points according to the driving style. Rear wheel drive models use a mechanical limited slip differential for optimum traction. The driver can select modes for auto normal, autosport, manual normal, manual sport, and ICE or increased control and efficiency.
Inside the Quattroporte the passengers are enveloped in comfort and technology. The classic high centered Maserati clock is placed above the 8.4-inch Touch Control Plus infotainment system, which can be operated via the touchscreen, a rotary dial, or voice command. The system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Apple Siri, and an available WiFi system. Audio is supplied by either a 900 watt Harman Kardon system with up to 12-channel stereo, or a Bowers and Wilkins surround system with 1,280 watts of power and fifteen speakers.
Driver assistance and safety features include blind spot alert with active blind spot assist and rear cross-traffic alerts, forward collision plus with advanced brake assist, traffic sign recognition, and highway assist systems including adaptive cruise control with stop and go feature and lane-keeping assistance.
