Maserati Levante Power & Handling

There are two amazing powertrain options available for the Levante. This first, a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, pumps out 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque under the hood of the base model. Under the hood of the S model, this engine kicks out 424 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. The second engine available for the Levante SUV is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Under the hood of the GTS trim, this engine creates 550 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. This engine also powers the Trofeo, kicking out 590 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. These engines are mounted quite far back in the chassis to boast a 50/50 weight balance. Maserati pairs both engines with an eight-speed automatic transmission and are configured with a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system that delivers a sporty experience!

Porsche Cayenne Power & Handling

There are four separate powertrain options for the Porsche Cayenne, all of which are tied to specific trim levels. The first engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that creates 335 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque. Another engine option is a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 which produces 434 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid model is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with an electric motor. Together they kick out 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The final engine available is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that generates 541 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Each Cayenne model is outfitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel-drive.

Maserati Levante Features & Design

The Maserati Levante is available in four trim levels. They include the base, S, GTS, and Trofeo. Standard features include automatic bi-xenon headlights, a limited-slip differential, LED fog- and taillights, hill descent control, an adaptive air suspension, a power liftgate, leather upholstery, 19-inch wheels, an 8.4” touchscreen interface, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight-speed sound system, four 12-volt outlets, four USB ports, dual-zone climate control, and more. The other trim levels build upon the base model with features such as black brake calipers, larger wheels, steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, a panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors, enhanced leather upholstery, adaptive full LED headlights, high-performance tires, and more!

Porsche Cayenne Features & Design

The Porsche Cayenne is also available in four trim levels. They include the base, S, E-Hybrid, and Turbo. The base starts the lineup off with standard features like LED headlights, a 12.4-inch touchscreen, partial leather seats, and 19-inch wheels. The upper three trims add an adaptive suspension, tinted taillights, sport seats, front and rear heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, upgraded brakes, and a Bose sound system. Most of the features you want for the Cayenne are locked away behind packages that instantly bump up the price tag.

Conclusions

The Maserati Levante definitely wins our vote when it comes to these two luxurious SUVs. The Cayenne may offer a hybrid powertrain option, but overall the Porsche's engine lineup just can’t compete with the power Maserati has to offer. Plus, the Levante trim lineup is far superior to what the Porsche Cayenne offers. If you are looking for more information about the Maserati Levante, read the other reviews we have linked below!
