2019 Maserati Ghibli vs 2019 Audi A7 near Edison, NJ

With the overseas luxury car market making its way to the United States, consumers are getting even more choice when it comes to the car-buying market. Two of the best of these types of vehicles are the Maserati Ghibli and the Audi A7. Both are luxurious on the inside and have a ton of features to go with powerful engines. But which one has the edge? In this article, we will pit them against each other to see which one comes out on top.

2019 Maserati Ghibli Power & Handling

Three engine options are available for the Maserati Ghibli. The base Ghibli comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 345 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The engine sends power to its rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The same style engine powers the S, though the S comes with 424 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. The S Q4 adds even more strength and also comes with all-wheel-drive.

2019 Audi A7 Power & Handling

The Audi A7 comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, which is the only transmission offered. A 48-volt mild-hybrid system assists with the automatic stop-start and allows the gasoline engine to shut off for brief periods on the highway. This system is excellent but still only allows the A7 to get up to 29 mpg on the highway.

2019 Maserati Ghibli Features & Design

Three trim levels are available for the Maserati Ghibli, each with a ton of features. The base Ghibli comes with 19-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlights, a rearview camera, keyless entry and ignition, auto-dimming mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with an eight-speaker audio system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features include front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring. Higher-level trims add more luxurious items such as chrome exterior styling elements, laminated rear glass, a hands-free trunk, power soft-closing doors, and open-pore wood accents. Also included are 20-inch wheels, red-painted brake calipers, a sport steering wheel, sport seats, and leather coverings on the dashboard and door armrests.

2019 Audi A7 Features & Design

The base-level Audi A7 comes with a standard power liftgate, navigation, full emergency braking, LED headlights, automatic wipers, keyless entry and ignition, heated front seats, and an infotainment touch screen. Higher-level trims come with automatic high beams, a surround-view camera, a virtual instrument panel, ventilated front seats, and rear window shades. These are some exciting features, but you would have to go elsewhere if you want more luxurious items. Though the Audi A7 does feature a lether interior, it does not come with all the luxury items you would find in the Maserati Ghibli.

Conclusions

Though both sedans are undoubtedly terrific, in the end, we are going to go with the Maserati Ghibli. The Ghibli is the most luxurious of the two, and the engine is more powerful and fuel-efficient. Additionally, the Ghibli also has more features at the base level.
