The 2019 Maserati Levante S has gone through some updates after just about two years since its introduction. Maserati restored the more conventional gear selector and the drive mode buttons have been moved to the center console for easier access. The Levante S is offered with available GranLusso luxury or GranSport performance trims.
The 2019 Levante S is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter dual overhead cam 24-valve V-6 engine developing 430 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. It is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission delivering power to the rear wheels. It has 0-60 mph times of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 163 mph.
The GranLusso trim focuses on luxury with amenities such as a smooth rear spoiler, seats designed for maximum comfort with premium leather trim and Ermenegildo Zenga silk inserts, chrome grille and front fascia trim, 20-inch custom wheels, Harman Kardon audio, parking assist sensors, and soft-closing doors. The GranSport trim has a different front fascia taken from the Levante GTS and Trofeo, rear fascia black inserts, perforated leather steering wheel, sport pedals, GranLusso premium leather on sport seats, carbon trim, double-stitched upholstery, 21-inch wheels, a different rear spoiler, and parking sensors. The two trims share the same suspension and engine tuning settings.
Normal driving mode makes for a comfortable ride on busy roads. When the roads start to twist, switch to Sport mode to bring the 8-speed down a couple gears into the power band. This mode results in a throaty unbaffled exhaust. The two-mode suspension can be operated in either Normal or Sport driving mode for a variety of driving experiences and handling characteristics. Column-mounted paddle shifters allow the driver to move quickly through the transmission gears if desired.
