The 2019 Maserati Quattroporte is a luxury sedan steeped in a racing heritage. The result is a timeless combination of comfort, style, and dynamic performance. The 2019 Quattroporte is offered in three models; S, S Q4, and GTS. The S and S Q4 use a Ferrari-built 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine developing 424 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It offers top speeds of 177 mph and 0-62 mph times of 5.0 seconds or slightly less depending on the model. The S Q4 is designated as such for its use of Q4 intelligent all-wheel drive for optimum handling in poor weather or challenging roads. The GTS utilizes a Ferrari-built twin-turbo 3.8 liter V-8 engine offering 523 horsepower and 524 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 193 mph and 0-62 mph time of 4.6 seconds. All models use an 8-speed transmission with calibrated top gears for fuel conservation, plus the ability for the driver to choose one of five driving modes; Auto Normal or Sport, Manual Normal or Sport, or ICE for Increased Control and Efficiency.
The Q4 all-wheel drive system can in milliseconds apply power to individual wheels for maximum grip, and will also shift seamlessly from rear-wheel only to 50/50 front/rear wheel drive when dictated by driving conditions. The Skyhook performance suspension uses continuous electronic damping to optimize the ride for road conditions and driving behavior. A Sport mode can be chosen to stiffen the suspension for a more dynamic feel. Electric power steering is standard and modifies the amount of assist based on speed. Integrated vehicle control proactively reacts to manage situations which might lead to vehicle instability for better control and possibly higher speeds.
The exterior of the Quattroporte is clear luxury with the hint of underlying power. The iconic Trident badge is centrally placed in the front grille with its powerful vertical bars. The deep-cut fascia creates the profile of a predatory animal with the added powerful look of new adaptive full LED headlights. An 8.4-inch infotainment system with Maserati Touch Control Plus centers the console, providing a wealth of information and entertainment through the premium audio system. Additionally, owners can choose from GranLusso luxury trim options or GranSport performance features depending on their personal tastes.
