2019 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible
Today?s GranTurismo convertibles have DNA from 70 years of Maserati design and engineering. From the first A6 1500 GT Pininfarina in 1947 the idea of a grand touring convertible has been carried forward with Italian style and panache. The GranTurismo Convertible is all Italian GT with a naturally aspirated V-8 engine, sports car handling, and a spacious interior with fine leathers, woods, and carbon fiber. You have a choice of Sport and MC models.
Powering the 2019 GranTourismo Convertible is the high-revving naturally aspirated V-8 engine developing 454 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. It offers 0-62 mph times of 4.9 seconds for the Sport and 4.8 seconds for the MC. Top speed is 177 mph for the Sport and 179 mph for the MC. Both use the ZF six-speed MC auto shift gearbox and a limited slip differential. Driving modes are selectable; Auto Normal or Sport, Manual Normal or Sport, and ICE for Increased Control and Efficiency. The suspension is a double-wishbone with hydraulic steering, and the brakes are Brembo with 20-inch alloy wheels.
The GranTourismo Convertible design is classic Italian and Maserati with the aggressive front grille with trident, iconic triple side air vents, perfect weight distribution, and a race-inspired aerodynamic shape. The skill of Maserati artisans is evident is the draft-free cabin with three-layer cloth top which has a thermal glass rear window and raises or lowers in seconds, sport seats in Poltrona Frau or Alcantara, Trident embossing on the headrests, hand-stitching throughout the cabin, available trims in wood, carbon fiber, or MC Edition aluminum, and a wide palette of colors to suit all tastes. The rear seating is easy entry with spacious head and leg room for two adults, the front seats are multi-adjustable sport seats with folding armrests, and there is an electric opening assist for the trunk and doors.
The technology in the 2019 GranTurismo Convertible is all 21st Century with its 8.4-inch multi-touchscreen operating Maserati?s Touch Control Plus system. It offers smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Audio is provided by a Harman Kardon 11-speaker premium system. SiriusXM® Radio with a 1-year subscription and Traffic with a 5-year subscription are standard.
Safety is inherent in Maserati design, and the GranTurismo Convertible includes features such as Maserati Stability Program which monitors the vehicle status and uses engine torque and brakes to restore stability almost instantaneously, a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, anti-slip regulation, engine torque braking control, advanced brake assist, adaptive headlight control, daytime running lamps, LED taillights, and advanced air bags with side curtains and auto-deploying telescoping roll bars.
