Since its introduction at the Turin Motor Show in 1966, the Maserati Ghibli has defined luxury with performance dynamics which merge into the pinnacle of grand touring automobiles. The Ghibli also contains the DNA of Maserati racing history, ensuring that every trip will be exhilarating.
The 2018 Ghibli comes in two model trims; GranLusso and GranSport. There is also a special edition Nerissimo in all-black seductive accents. Let's look at the main features:
GranLusso - The emphasis is on luxury and comfort. We use our Comfort seats with 12-way power adjustments and memory for convenience. The upholstery can be either full premium leather or Ermenegildo Zegna Silk. The interior trim is Radica open-pore wood.
GranSport - This trim is all about embracing its racing heritage. We use Sport seats with 12-way power adjustment and memory, a grippy Sport steering wheel, paddle shifters, and Inox Sport foot pedals. The GranSport also is equipped with Skyhook suspension and parking sensors.
Nerissimo - Ghibli is presented in a seductive black edition. It has heated sport seats and steering wheel, and the interior is all in black with Dark Mirror trim on the center console. It comes with privacy glass, navigation, and a power rear sunshade. The exterior uses 20-inch wheels in Urano glossy black, solid black paint, and dark trim on the LED headlights and exhaust tips. Pure black is used on brake calipers, door handles, grille bars, and window trim.
In the tradition of Maserati craftsmanship. all upholstery is stitched by hand. The dashboard contains the legendary Maserati clock above an 8.4-inch Touch Control Plus infotainment system with its rotary dial. Below that is a convenient phone storage box. The system can control seat heating, ventilation, and has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. A 900 watt Harman Kardon audio system offers superb sound, or choose a 15-speaker Bowers and Wilkins surround system driven by a 1,280-watt amplifier.
There are two engines available for the Ghibli; a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 gas engine developing either 350 or 430 horsepower, or a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine in either 250 or 275 horsepower configurations. The transmission is an advanced ZF 8-speed automatic with auto-adaptive software that can modify the shift patterns according to your driving style and uses two high gears designed to reduce fuel consumption.
Safety and driver assistance features comprise a highway assist system including adaptive cruise control with stop and go and lane keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning plus, advanced brake assist, active blind spot assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Ghibli now uses full LED adaptive headlights for safety.
